The second part of our new Online Draping Workshop with Zoom is dedicated to JAPANESE DRAPING and UPCYCLING.
July 25, 2020
In part one I will give you an introduction into the technique of Japanese Draping. We will start to create a shirt/jacket pattern on the dress form with muslin/calico. I will teach the three-dimensional pattern making technique in this part, so you will have a pattern after part one, not a one of a kind piece. You can cut this pattern later in different materials and create several jackets.
August 8, 2020
In part two we will finish the pattern and create a sleeve pattern from scratch. After we will start to cut with recycled materials your one of a kind soul-piece jacket/shirt (picture above in the middle and left).
August 9, 2020
In part 3 I will teach you my personal way of cutting from garments or fabric pieces by using a pattern and you will patch together your new dream piece out of the material of your choice (recycled material or embroidered textiles etc.)
You will create a unique and personal new piece of garment.
I will share my complete knowledge about the process of Draping and Upcycling in this classes as well as the three-dimensional pattern making (Japanese Draping) in combination with Upcycling from an existent pattern. The workshop language will be English. We will go deeper and deeper every time and my focus is, to bring you to your own expression and to your full creative potential in this class.
By working with Upcycling, I will always start the class with a draping demonstration. This is meant to be as inspiration for you, not as an one by one instruction. After the demonstration you will have time to work on your own piece. I will “go around” and assist everybody in the own process.
The number of participants is limited.
The workshop will start at 5pm and end at 9pm (Berlin CET).
